This post is probably a little bit late in coming since I already have a ton of tutorials on both MailChimp and Squarespace and how to use them together, but a lot of people comment on my videos asking how to connect Mailchimp to Squarespace in the first place.

The good news is that its super simple. Watch the video or follow the steps below.

How to Connect MailChimp and Squarespace

First things first, make sure that you have both a MailChimp and a Squarespace account. You don’t need to even think about this step until your Squarespace site is set up and you’re looking to connect your newsletter opt-in.

When you go to edit your newsletter opt-in, the first tab will allow you to customize the language. You’ll want to navigate away from Content tab and land on the Storage tab like in the image above.

If you don’t see the MailChimp option, click on Other Storage Options to get to it.

When you select MailChimp, you’ll be prompted to enter your username and password (for MailChimp!) and then asked to approve the connection. THAT’S IT.

As a last step, make sure that you’ve selected the MailChimp option and have Xed out the Squarespace Email Campaigns option.

Variation #2

You have the option of enabling Double Opt-In, this will send the subscribers an email that they NEED to open in order to confirm being added to your email list. My advice is actually not to enable double opt-in. IF at some point you start getting spam sign ups, then you can enable the double opt-in.

Note: if you enable the double opt-in on Squarespace but not in MailChimp, the confirmation email will still send, but it will be really annoying to edit its content. I have the steps on how to do that here.

Best of luck! Xx, Kara
