Retainers

Retainer Information

How Retainers Work

First, let’s start with why you might be interested in a retainer:

  1. You need monthly assistance with your website and/or online business systems.
  2. You’d like to have your questions and requests addressed quickly.
  3. You’re cool with getting a slight discount on the work 👋

Second, here’s how we would set it up:

  1. We would review your past work history or chat about your needs to determine if this is a project-based or hourly retainer, i.e. you’re reserving a certain number of hours a month vs. a certain number of routine tasks.
  2. You will automatically get billed on the first of each month.
  3. As you need work done throughout the month, I’ll respond within 24-hours to all requests (whereas right now it’s sometimes taking me up to a week to respond to requests from non-retainer clients).

Kara Ferreira

If you’ve worked with me in the past, I’ll review our past history of work and determine if the retainer should be based on tasks (i.e., you need a blog post published every month and a site backup every month), or on my hourly rate (i.e., you need a wide variety of tasks executed each month, the tasks vary, and there may be a troubleshooting component).

If you’re new to me, we’ll discuss your needs and determine where you fall.

The retainer rate is my quoted price for tasks plus a discount based on the length of your retainer. The total rate will be based on the approximate number of tasks or hours required in a month.

50% of your hours or tasks (50% of a task is based on the value) will roll over to the next month. Rolled-over value must be used within 3 months or they are forfeited.

If you need more than is specified in your retainer, I will assess a quote for additional work at my discounted hourly or project rate.

You will receive a monthly statement. In the event that you have extra tasks or hours, they will be billed at this time. If you have rolled-over value, the monthly statement will note from which month the value originated and when it expires.
