One thing I get asked ALL of the time is where to find not-cheesy not-stock-y stock photos for websites. In the absence of getting a professionally styled shoot done, or becoming a flat lay expert, it can be helpful to have some lifestyle-y images for your website.

Why not just use photos of yourself?

You can! If you have a ton of high-quality photos and you’re someone who doesn’t mind having their face all over their website, then this is a great way to go!

Why would you use stock photos?

Having some photos that aren’t of you can help to shed light on your target audience if you’re able to find photos that look like that group of people. Stock photos for websites can also help to add emotion or color to your website. There are a lot of creative ways to use stock photos for websites!

This is the complete list of FREE resources for stock photo for websites that I use:

Unsplash

This website is always my first stop. It has a good mixture of lifestyle shots, landscapes, people shots – pretty much anything you might be looking for.

Styled Stock

This small, curated collection is the best spot to go to for pretty, feminine flat lay or office shots.

Pexels

This is a great alternative to Unsplash. If you don’t see what you want there, stop by Pexels. They also have a great selection of people, interiors, landscapes and lifestyle shots.

Death to the Stock Photo

Looking for something with a little more edginess to it? This is a great website for not-so-ordinary shots.
